In August 2014, we took a decisive step toward our future by purchasing what would become the new home of SPE. This factory relocation was more than just a change of address—it was a strategic move that reflected our ambitions for continued growth and innovation in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire.
Following the purchase, we embarked on a significant refurbishment project and the construction of brand-new office space. This work was completed in December 2014. Over the Christmas period, we paused operations for two weeks to carry out the relocation from our three existing units into the new facility.
On 5 January 2015, we officially moved into our new 28,000 sq ft premises, located within a secure, self-contained site. At the time, we occupied only half of the available space, giving us the flexibility to scale operations as demand grew. This consolidation brought all departments under one roof, enhancing communication, efficiency, and overall productivity.
This move was a pivotal milestone in SPE’s history. It enabled us to streamline operations, invest in the latest manufacturing technologies, and deliver improved service to our customers. Since the relocation, we’ve invested approximately £5 million in cutting-edge equipment, ensuring we remain at the forefront of our industry.
Reflecting on the past decade, it’s clear that this relocation was the foundation for long-term success. It empowered us to expand our capabilities, support a growing customer base, and strengthen our presence both in the UK and globally.
