Staffs Precision Components

Staffordshire Precision Engineering is proud to announce that it has been named as a finalist in the Enginuity Skills Awards 2026.

The company has been shortlisted for SME Employer Skills Champion of the Year, following a nomination from Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) in recognition of SPE’s continued commitment to apprenticeships, skills development and investing in the next generation of engineering talent.

The Enginuity Skills Awards are a national event celebrating excellence in skills, training and development across the engineering and manufacturing sectors. This year’s awards will take place at the Park Plaza Hotel in London on 1st July 2026.

Building Skills for the Future

For over 40 years, Staffordshire Precision Engineering has been manufacturing and supplying precision components to clients across a wide range of sectors. As the business continues to grow and evolve, developing skilled people remains an important part of its long term future.

SPE has built a strong working relationship with NSCG, helping to create valuable apprenticeship opportunities for young people looking to build careers in precision engineering and advanced manufacturing.

By July 2026, SPE will have 10 apprentices within the business, each gaining practical experience, technical training and the opportunity to develop highly skilled careers within the sector.

A Successful Relationship with NSCG

The partnership with NSCG has enabled SPE to support young people as they take their first steps into engineering, while also helping the business develop the skills needed for the future.

Through the apprenticeship programme, individuals are able to learn directly from experienced engineers, develop technical knowledge, gain hands on experience and understand the high standards required within precision component manufacturing.

This collaborative approach has helped create a positive pathway between education, training and employment.

Investing in Young People and UK Manufacturing

As a business, Staffordshire Precision Engineering recognises the importance of investing in young people. Apprenticeships provide a valuable route into skilled employment and help to ensure that the engineering and manufacturing sectors continue to attract, train and retain new talent.

The company’s commitment to apprenticeships supports both the growth of the business and the wider skills needs of the industry.

Being named as a finalist for SME Employer Skills Champion of the Year is a significant achievement and reflects the dedication of the team, the apprentices and the continued support of NSCG.

Staffordshire Precision Engineering is delighted to receive this national recognition and looks forward to attending the Enginuity Skills Awards in London this July.

Training apprentices has always been part of our culture. We recognise the importance of developing young people and passing on essential skills. As the company expands into new sectors and adopts advanced equipment, investing in the next generation of engineers becomes even more important. It is especially rewarding to offer them strong career opportunities working on complex, high-profile parts for industries such as aerospace, motorsport, and medical equipment.

The NSCG group has provided not only a well-structured training programme, but also an excellent college learning environment that complements the high standard of our in-house training.
